91st Infantry Division V-3 white border GEMSCO ribbed weave Rare WW2 US Army. The white backing threads reflect light but does not glow. Paper & glue residue on back.

Please note that the black light test is only one testing tool. Coal tar (analine) fabric dies were used from 1927 into 1943+ and those dies do glow under UV/black light. If you are not sure about the black light test check US Militaria Forum>Discussion>Shoulder Sleeve Insignia & patches>proper black light techique. Also check the ASMIC magazines for articles about this. You can do a google search, read all the info and end up with a headache! I've had this patch since the 1970's A couple of times I scored a large suitcase full of all sorts of patches (from the same jolly elf) at the Great Western Gun Show in LA. I had tables there for a number of years. This jolly ole elf would also do the ASMIC conventions. At best this patch is of war period construction. At worst of post war construction. When the embrodery factories supplied the Army/Navy Stores with patches they would usually send them cases of shoe boxes filled with patches. The Army/Navy stores would have to take what ever they sent as a package deal.

I got this information back in the day from a couple of Army/Navy stores on Market Street in San Francisco. That information was also backed up by the fellow I knew back in the day. Small amount of white glue and paper on back.
