Many of those pilots wore US made "blood chits" on their flight jackets to aid in survival and rescue if their aircraft was forced down. One version featured the Nationalist Chinese flag and a message printed in Chinese, identifying the man as an American aviator, and encouraging locals to offer friendly assistance to the pilot. This US Army AAF WW2 14TH AIR FORCE "FLYING TIGERS" PILOT CHINESE FLAG BLOOD CHIT is in excellent condition, with one deep vertical and horizontal fold line, some wrinkling to the lower left edge, and with some light scattered wrinkling, spot soiling, and age wear evident (ALL pictured).Otherwise, the blood chit is in excellent shape, with absolutely no rips, holes, tears, or other damage to the crisp white rayon acetate construction. Most interestingly, it bears the classic large Nationalist Chinese flag at the upper front, sports the third version of the assistance message in Chinese around the lower front, and carries the familiar red "chop" mark and serial number "W 30190" at the lower right front. A beautiful example of a rare, original. US Army AAF WW2 14TH AIR FORCE "FLYING TIGERS" PILOT CHINESE FLAG BLOOD CHIT.
