Grail WW2 Invasion Patch Set U. S. Army 99th/474th Norway Operation Doomsday RARE

Authenticated and original WWII invasion flag and Viking troops patch set. Worn by the 99th infantry, a regiment composed with troops hand picked by President Roosevelt from the 10th mountain brigade who were of direct Norwegian descent. In 1945, the 99th infantry was made into the 474th as part of operation doomsday to eradicate the German presence out of Norway. They had arrived in Oslo, Norway and was issued this rare U.

Invasion patch for the locals to differentiate them from the Russian force. The 134th British infantry brigade, the Viking troops, formation sign was part of the Allied Liberation Force, and has been documented to also have been worn by U. Troops in this rare occasion. During which the 99th was assigned as the kings personal honor guard for the event. This invasion flag is of an extremely rare woven gauze type cotton, with a pattern not seen in any other part of the war besides operation doomsday. I've inspect both patches under a microscope and performed blacklight/Glow tests on both, with complete and confident accuracy results. I've spent many hours researching this history, and I've found that only 4 other invasion flags of this type have been documented, all within private collections, none being in a museum. 3 of which don't display a stitching pattern shown to have been put on a uniform, which this one has. This will look great as a center piece for your collection as it has mine.
