WWII American Red Cross (ARC) Women's Service Tunic with US Army Pacific Patch. ARTIFACT: WWII American Red Cross Member of the Military Welfare Corps women's service tunic with United States Army Pacific patch sewn on right shoulder sleeve. The jacket features light blue collar tabs with black stripes fastened with plastic buttons in brown or black color embossed with the Red Cross emblem in the center and reads: "American Red Cross". The ARC Service patch was sewn on the upper left sleeve, and volunteer bar with three silvered bullion overseas stripes are sewn above cuff. The jacket was made by Smith-Gray in New York and features a union label.
SIZE: Approximately 17" from armpit to armpit; 24" length from collar to hem (on reverse); 22" from shoulder seam to cuff; 14" between shoulders. CONSTRUCTION/MATERIALS: Gabardine wool, embroidered patch cotton/silk/polyester thread, plastic buttons, silvered bullion. CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): Tunic shows a couple of moth nips, a chipped button, and one that is missing from the shoulder epaulet, nearly all the bullion details remain intact.
