WWII U. S. ARMY AIR CORPS 8th AIR FORCE OFFICER'S UNIFORM JACKET BULLION PATCH

This is an extremely fine World War II U. Army Air Corps 8th Air Force Officers Uniform Jacket that is in excellent condition.

It is constructed of chocolate brown elastique material and complete with all the officers brass buttons. Pinned to each epaulet is a pin back Majors gold oak leaf rank insignia. Sewn to the left shoulder is a beautiful British made 8th Air Force patch hand embroidered in metallic gold and silver bullion thread on a blue wool background.

Sewn to the left cuff are four gold bullion overseas bars on an OD wool background that represent at least two years of overseas service. Attached to the lapels are the clutch back U. And wing and prop officers insignia.

Pinned above the left breast pocket is a 3-place pin back ribbon bar consisting of the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with two oak leaf clusters representing three awards of this decoration, and the European Theater of Operations Medal with three bronze campaign stars. Pinned above the ribbon bar is a beautiful pin back pilots wing by AMCRAFT of Attleboro, Mass. Pinned above the right breast pocket is a plastic covered, pin back, gold framed Presidential Unit Citation with oak leaf cluster indicating a second award of this citation. The jacket is complete with its original belt and brass buckle.

The interior is lined in brown polished cotton that is quilted on both sides of the breast area. Sewn to the exterior of the interior right breast pocket is a tailors label that reads, Kelly Troy, NY. This is a truly great looking jacket that remains in excellent, undamaged condition. Shoulder to Shoulder across the back: 18½ inches. Armpit to armpit across the front: 18 inches.
