Wwii U. S. Army Air Force Headquarters Patch Theater Made Bullion #1

This is an extremely fine World War II U. Army Air Corps theater made Headquarters shoulder patch in bullion that is in excellent condition. It is constructed of hand embroidered gold and silver metallic thread on a dark blue wool background. The wings are of gold bullion, and the star is of silver bullion with the center embroidered in red cotton thread.

There is a heavy twisted gold bullion border around the outer edge. The reverse is unfaced and clearly displays the intricacies of the hand embroidery. The patch measures 2½ inches in diameter and has been carefully removed from a uniform.

It remains in a beautiful-looking example in excellent condition.
