WWII U. S. ARMY AIRBORNE ENLISTED PARA/GLIDER KHAKI OVERSEAS CAP withBLUE PATCH

This is a very fine World War II U. Airborne Enlisted Para/Glider overseas cap that is in excellent condition. It is constructed of khaki cotton material and piped in light blue piping for Parachute Infantry Regiments. Sewn to the left front is an officer's blue para/glider patch with the parachute and glider executed in white cotton thread on a dark blue twill backing and with a white border around the edge. The glider is facing right, which is correct for officers while the patch for enlisted personnel faced left. How this trooper got away with wearing an officer's patch is a mystery. The interior of the cap is unlined and is with a khaki-colored cotton material sweatband sewn securely in place. The spec tag gives the size of the cap as'7? There are no holes or damage to this cap, and it remains in excellent, undamaged condition.
