Wwii U. S. Army Airborne Pathfinder Patch British Made

This is an extremely fine and very scarce U. World War II British made Airborne Paratrooper's Pathfinder's sleeve insignia that is in excellent condition. This insignia is hand embroidered on a dark blue wool backing and exhibits exceptionally fine needlework. The insignia is nicely padded, much like the RAF cloth aviation wings, which gives it a very attractive 3-dimensional appearance. This insignia was carefully removed from a uniform as evidenced by thread along the edge. This is an exceptional example of the classic flaming torch pathfinder's sleeve insignia that was earned by only a small group of select paratroopers during the Second World War, and unlike the mint examples, this one saw service during the war.
